The much needed rain has continued. It's amazing how the landscape has changed from brown to luscious green everywhere. The trees no longer look tired and dusty, but shiny and showing new growth in a final flush before the cooler weather sets in.
The girls and I are having a lot of fun on our new broadband connection. We are watching a lot of Youtube and I've been enjoying listening to almost ad free radio via the computer. Sounds hilarious now, but we actually got broadband to allow me to get on and off the computer quickly, the result was to spend less time of the computer. Ha! We have our computers together, so I guess at least we are spending time *as a family*. The girls have learnt about how tiresome registering for new downloads can be!
The whole family met up at Noosa for the weekend just passed. Wayne's step-sister was having a 50th and it was a huge get together. Wayne met up with friends he hadn't seen since he was around 9-11 years old - great to see his face light up when he recognised an old playmate.
The weather was very humid but clear and perfect for all the swimming we did. We had a unit right on the Noosa River with it's own jetty and boats, but unfortunately time slid away from us and we were so busy we didn't get an opportunity to use the kayaks or fish.
One of our guinea pigs was taken by a large carpet python a couple of days ago. She was one of our first guinea pigs and was about 5-6 years old, which is a good age but still very sad to lose one of our piggy friends. We have trapped the python (it couldn't move - too full) and will release it a long way from our house because we have many more small animals that we don't want eaten.
Life is good, we are enjoying playing Rush Hour and Boggle at the moment. Jess is quite the Boggle expert which is really amazing as she has always disliked written words and spelling but this game really seems to bring out the best in her word skills area. She has an extensive knowledge of words and can spot them better than both her parents! Drat.
