We are an unschooling family of four living on the outskirts of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Christmas is past and the lovely long days of summer are being enjoyed by us. While we aren't going anywhere this year we are spending the time at home with our dogs, ducks, chickens, goose, guinea pigs, fish and eels. These are one of the reasons we can't go away for long periods of time.
We've had a few days of much needed rain which has made the garden a pleasure to work in. We have 1.5 acres and I try to plant as much of it with food trees/plants and vegetables as possible. We are in drought and so I've been watering it all with a bucket and watering can. Hard and time consuming but necessary. So the rain has brought me a few days off the hand watering.
We are having late mornings, long meals, playing with our Nintendogs, pc games, listening to music and reading. I've been catching up on my emails and the girls are also playing with their remote control 4WD's, some of the time indoors because of the rain. This has meant the house has been piled up with quilts, pillows, cushions, basically anything soft to cushion the cars from smashing into walls, furniture and doorways!
